Margaret A. McCausland

Margaret A. “Peggy” McCausland opened The Law Offices of Margaret A. McCausland LLC in June 2006.  

In January 2010, Patricia A. “Trish” McCausland joined the practice, and the firm became McCausland & McCausland LLC.

Peggy obtained her law degree cum laude from Villanova University School of Law in 1987. In addition to other activities, she served as a staff member, and then Business Editor, of the Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Peggy obtained her B.S. from St. Joseph’s University College summa cum laude.  Before opening her own firm, Peggy was an associate at Dechert LLP and a partner at Blank Rome LLP.  She has served as adjunct faculty at Villanova University School of Law since 1999.  

Peggy lectures extensively on employment related topics, including recent changes in the ADA and its regulations, implementation of the FMLA, discrimination and harassment avoidance and effective
employee discipline.

Her legal ability has been recognized by her peers in the legal profession, who have voted her a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for eight consecutive years.  She has also been included in the 13th, 14th and 15th editions of Who’s Who in American Law.

Peggy is an active community volunteer.  She represents abused and neglected children through the Support Center for Child Advocates as a volunteer attorney, and was named Advocate of the Year by the Support Center in 1996.  Peggy also was the second recipient of the Citizens Pro Bono Award, given by the Philadelphia Bar Foundation to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to ensuring the provisions of legal services to those in need.  She is Immediate Past-President of the Board of Robin’s Nest Inc., a children’s social services agency in Glassboro, New Jersey; is a Trustee of Peirce College; and is on the Board of the Forum of Executive Women.

Peggy has also been recognized by members of the business community — in 2001, she was selected as
one of 25 Women of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal and the National Association of
Women Business Owners.
