Employment Law – representing employers in all aspects of Labor and Employment Law including: 

Advising and counseling to avoid litigation under state and federal statutes such as Title VII, the ADEA, the ADA, the FMLA, state Wage Payment and Collection Laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the WARN Act, and other federal, state and local labor and employment statutes 

Investigating allegations of discrimination, harassment and other employment-related issues

Training managers and employees to minimize employment-related litigation and increase productivity (subjects include discrimination and harassment avoidance, effective employee counseling and discipline, and statutory compliance)

Handling government agency proceedings 

Drafting employment, non-compete and independent contractor agreements, personnel policies and employee handbooks

Negotiating contracts and collective bargaining agreements and representing management in arbitrations brought by unions

Defending employment-related lawsuits and arbitrations (discrimination, harassment, wage payment, etc.)

Commercial Litigation - representing businesses, business owners, and managers in employment and other business-related mediation, arbitration and litigation matters, including:

  • Breaches of contract
  • Insurance coverage disputes
  • Interference with business relationships
  • Disputes over non-compete clauses and other restrictive covenants
  • Breaches of fiduciary duty
  • Shareholder/Stakeholder disputes
